On acceptance of 1st Choice Flooring Solutions’ estimate and/or completion of booking, the service provided will work under these terms and conditions.

Introduction

1st Choice Flooring Solutions Ltd are leading flooring contractor in Wolverhampton, West Midlands. As flooring specialists, we offer top-quality flooring, competitive prices and the very best service in supplying and installing all domestic and commercial flooring. We specialise in luxury vinyl tiles offering brands such as Karndean, Amtico, Altro, Polyflor, Kahrs and many more.

We also undertake, insurance work, contract work and wet rooms. Our goals are to meet and exceed the expectations of every customer. We undertake all flooring projects in private residences and across many commercial sectors, including healthcare, corporate, retail, leisure, hospitality, education and industry. Our work is carried out to the highest standards and at a competitive price by experienced, Enhanced DBS-checked, and CSCS-certified flooring fitters.

Service

The service that we offer is a full flooring service offering supply and installation, whereby our clients get to choose from samples of flooring provided to them or specified by the architect. The floor will be measured and surveyed during the selection process of flooring type, and colour options, this includes assessing the room’s current use.

However, we ask the client to ensure that:

  • Any pets, young children and vulnerable adults remain off the premises during the preparation and installation of the flooring.
  • All furnishings, white goods and temporary fixtures are cleared from the area prior to works starting.
  • There is access to clean running water.
  • There is a working and running heating system in the property.
  • Before and during the installation, the room temperature must be kept at a minimum of 15°C and maximum of 27°C.
  • Underfloor heating must be turned off 48 hours prior to installation starting and left off for 48 hours after the installation, then slowly brought back up to temperature only increasing by a couple of degrees a day.
  • All underfloor heating must not exceed 27°C, once installation is complete.
  • We must ask that you (the client) inspect your current flooring before the invoice is sent over.

Responsibilities

At 1st Choice Flooring Solutions, are responsible for:

  • Providing a service within the agreed timeframe and the agreed date.
  • Install the correct flooring of the client’s choice.
  • Providing an estimate to inform clients of the time scale of the delivery of the flooring, a start date and a completion date.
  • Inform the client of any changes to the flooring, timeframe, date, and damages in transit.
  • Informing client(s) if we discover any structural findings especially if it will delay our agreed start date or the type of flooring.
  • Clients will be asked if they have any concerns, questions or queries regarding your flooring.
  • We will be responsible for the removal of all the flooring wastage – including plastic packaging/ sheeting waste and previous flooring materials.
  • On the day of completion, the area will be left clean and clear of any excess materials.

We will inform all clients not to use, walk or return furniture to that area for 24 hours after completion. Failure to do so may result in a repair service charge for any changes to the alignment of the layout.

We will not be held responsible for it, but we will include it within our report if we need to request a specialist consultant to deal with it;

  • Asbestos removal
  • Cutting down/plaining of internal or external doors
  • Cutting down/plaining of kitchen plinths
  • Any rodents or bees
  • Plumbers, to remove toilets, cookers and any other appliances, including washing machines, fridges and dishwashers
  • Gas
  • Electric
  • Existing furniture to be removed
  • Building/ Structural damages

All costs related to the above will be managed and paid for by the client however, it may delay the completion of the project.

Client Responsibilities

We would expect our clients to comply with all the above and notify us with at least 48 hours’ notice if they cannot, if not this may result in additional or abortion charges. Provide us with ample parking space for the period required.

Allow access into the premises as and when required within a working day or if we have agreed out of hours then we would expect access. If you have a key fob security system in place, then we would request that a person from the company be available to allow us access. If the person fails to attend or is late, this may result in additional or abortion charges, this may then affect the time allocated to the project.

However, should you provide us with a company key fob then we will use it within the agreed time and return it within 24 hours after completion. Also, the client will provide lanyards so that we adhere to their policy and safety procedures. 1 st Choice Flooring Solutions will be expected to inform client(s) if a specialist is required before, during or after the flooring process.

The client is responsible for any accidental and intentional damages to the flooring whilst stored on their premises which includes fire, theft and flood.

The client will pay the deposit to secure installation dates and prior to us ordering any materials, any delay with receiving the deposit may delay your installation dates, balance will be paid on completion of the project. This deposit is none refundable, but may be credited, due to company discretion.

Products

We try to provide highly sourced flooring that will not incur any problems. Depending on the manufacturer, it may take about 1-3 weeks to order a client’s chosen flooring, but bespoke flooring may take longer to order. Most of our flooring is pre-prepared before installation to minimise any damages occurring whilst in transit.

All our installations have a 12-month installation guarantee in addition to the manufacturer wear and tear warrantee, the duration of this will be dependent on the flooring brand.

Payments

Once the estimate has been agreed upon, then an invoice will follow. A deposit will be made before the start date and prior to ordering any materials and full payment on the day of completion.

We only accept payment via BACs, Cheque or Cash.

All clients will be notified of any additional charges, and it will be outlined within the invoice.

Returns and Refunds

Returns for flooring will be accepted if the packaging has not been opened or damaged in any way, however you may incur a restocking charge.

We provide a 12-month installation guarantee and then the manufacturer’s warranty on wear and tear on specific flooring. We will inform the client as to which brand warranty terms are relevant to their choice.

Any refund will take 5 working days to process as each bank processes new payments differently.

Any returned items must be done within 5 working days and the items must not be damaged in any way. We cannot receive any damaged items; however, we can dispose of the item once the client has paid the disposal charge.

Cancellations

Any cancellations must be made in writing 7 days before the installation. A cancellation fee may apply, and the manufacturers may charge a re-stocking fee whereby we would transfer the cost onto the client.

Delivery Address

The delivery/installation address you provide must be accurate before installation. Incorrect addresses provided may incur travel and or abortion costs to the correct location.

If the delivery/installtion address is different to the invoice address, we would expect that this will be confirmed once you have received the quotation

Damages

If we store any unused packs of flooring on your premises, we will ask that you make sure that there are no personnel allowed in the area for health and safety reasons; should they damage the flooring, then we would need to replace it. Charge’s may be applicable, and it may affect the completion date.

Installations

We will install the flooring on a day agreed by the client. All furniture needs to be moved before the start date. Any room that has furniture remaining will be at risk from damage however, there will be a charge for moving furniture. Ensure that all animals, young children or vulnerable adults are kept away.

Any delays in clearing the space may extend the time allocated time to complete the agreed project.

Removal/Disposal Procedure

We offer a chargeable service to all domestic and commercial clients to remove or dispose of any existing flooring we uplift. 1 st Choice Flooring Solutions has a waste carrier license whereby we must dispose of unwanted items correctly.

Additional Instructions

We provide consultation on how to maintain your flooring. If any client damages the flooring, we will provide an estimate to repair your flooring should it be outside of the warranty or the general care of the flooring. We will always provide advice and guidance regarding your new flooring should you have any questions, concerns or queries.

Estimates are only valid for 30 days unless expressly withdrawn by us at an earlier time.

Any of us can cancel the order at any time for any reason prior to the acceptance or rejection of the estimate.

Modification of the Terms and Conditions

Any amendment(s) or modification(s) to the Terms and Conditions, the updated version will be made available for you to view online or should you request a copy.
